My experience from T/S Frances in September 2004 :

Note the neighbors house blue siding thru the fallen tree in this 2004 photo, featured in the 2008 photo above, four years later.

Both trees were 30+ year old oaks, roots weakened by rising waters from the creek they grew next to :

For some of us, relegated to watching from the sidelines, this will be another memory of when we were little and a tree came down on our house :
